Celebrate 150 Years of Alice in Wonderland at the Evesham Hotel

Devotees of Lewis Carroll will be aware that 2015 is the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland. But how many know there is a little piece of Wonderland in Evesham?

The Evesham Hotel has its very own Alice in Wonderland themed bedroom, complete with toadstools and a secret room for those special tea parties – popular with guests large and small.

To celebrate 150 years of Carroll’s classic, General Manager, David Field, invited guests to enjoy an Alice-themed afternoon tea throughout August with Queen of Hearts jam tarts and other enticing eats and treats.

He explains: “The Alice in Wonderland themed bedroom has become quite the tourist attraction at The Evesham Hotel, enticing Lewis Carroll fans from around the world.

"Our Alice-inspired afternoon tea can be enjoyed in parties of up to four people and with all jam tarts and other cakes completely homemade, we are hoping it will be as much of a hit with locals as it will be with hotel guests."

To completely set a Wonderland scene, guests can indulge in their afternoon tea within the hotel’s secluded gardens, with the roses in bloom and the opportunity to enjoy a game of croquet on the lawn.

The Evesham Hotel has 38 bedrooms and is set in 2.5 acres of secluded grounds, located in the heart of the historic river market town of Evesham. Built in 1540, it was once a Tudor farmhouse and is full of unique style and character.

It is ideally located to explore the Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and the Malvern Hills. The Evesham Hotel has a unique atmosphere and the staff ensure a very comfortable, pleasurable stay for both business and leisure guests.

Single rooms start from £85 B&B per night and include use of the leisure facilities including the indoor heated pool, free Wi-Fi and ample parking. For information about The Evesham Hotel and new The Mulberry Spa, please contact 01386 765566.
